How people experience transformation matters.
One of the most powerful things about coaching is the experience of it.
The presence. The responsiveness. The feeling of being deeply seen, challenged, supported, and guided. The sense of real progress being made in real time.
Excellent coaching creates movement—not just because of what’s being discussed, but because of how the experience itself is facilitated.
And yet, almost all of us have had the opposite experience when it comes to adult learning—especially online.
You sign up for a course that sounds incredibly promising…and it falls short. Maybe the ideas are interesting, the content is valuable, or the instructor is someone you deeply admire. But somewhere between the endless videos, lack of engagement, overwhelming information, and absence of reflection or integration… it just doesn’t stick.
Not because the ideas weren’t good. But because transformation rarely happens through information alone.
The more I noticed the difference between those experiences, the harder it became to ignore.
From certification programs to live workshops to continuing education experiences, developing this work has completely transformed the way I think about teaching, coaching, and adult learning.
What has fascinated me most isn’t just what people were learning. It was how differently they engaged with the material depending on the experience surrounding it.
The pacing. The facilitation. The opportunities for reflection and integration. The emotional safety to experiment, question, and grow. The difference between consuming information and actually embodying it.
Over the years, I’ve designed learning experiences for thousands of coaches.
I started Signature because I kept noticing the same pattern over and over again:
Coaches with extraordinary depth of knowledge and transformational skill struggling to translate their work into learning experiences that felt equally engaging, thoughtful, and effective.
Not because their work lacked value—but because most had never been taught how to design for learning itself.
That intersection—between transformational coaching and intentional learning design—is the work I’m deeply compelled to keep exploring.
Meet Your Curriculum Coach
Hi, I’m Marissa.
I’m a former educator turned certified coach with a deep love for thoughtful learning experiences, meaningful conversations, and helping people shape their ideas into something clear, engaging, and transformational.
Today, I work as a lead curriculum designer for one of the most established coach training organizations in the world, where I design learning experiences for coaches across certification programs, live trainings, workshops, and continuing education spaces.
When I’m not sitting behind my computer typing away, I’m usually:
sending unnecessarily long voice notes that start with “Okay wait, I have a thought…”
halfway through reorganizing some area of my life
performing an entire Broadway musical in the car
daydreaming about my next visit to the UK
sewing my own clothes or thrifting my next great find
I oscillate pretty regularly between wanting to quit everything and work with my hands and creating yet another online business. 😅
I’m also a fairly recent breast cancer survivor, which has deeply shaped the way I think about time, identity, growth, and what actually matters.
A lot of those reflections eventually found their way into Threaded, my Substack where I write about becoming in real time: the messy middle of change, the stories we tell ourselves, the tension between who we’ve been and who we’re becoming, and all the complexity that exists in between…plus plenty of fun stuff like style, travel, creativity, and whatever else I’ve been obsessing over lately.
And for the record: I’m a 2/4 Generator with Sacral Authority, an Enneagram 2w3, and an ENFJ… if—like me—you’re into that kind of thing. ✨
“Working with Marissa has been an absolute game changer for my level of clarity in my business.
I showed up with what felt like an overwhelming tangled mess of thoughts and ideas that seemed like dots impossible to connect. Yet somehow Marissa gently and artfully wove it all together to create something that feels not only manageable and doable, but also shiny, new, and exciting!
I came away from my time spent with Marissa feeling put back on my path, with a beautifully handcrafted map of my next few moves at my disposal. It’s abundantly clear that Marissa has a genuine passion for helping and guiding conscious business owners to thrive. She simply shows up to serve as her authentic self, which is incredibly refreshing.”

Give your work a bigger life.
Your ideas don’t have to stay confined to a single conversation or coaching agreement.
The frameworks you’ve developed, the growth you help facilitate, and the ways you help people move through change can become something people return to, learn from, and carry with them long after the program ends.
Not as a replacement for coaching—but as an expansion of it.
A more sustainable way to share your work. A way to support more people, create more flexibility in how you lead, and build something tangible you feel deeply proud of.
Because there’s something powerful about finally having a body of work that reflects the depth, care, and transformation you know you’re capable of creating.
And often, it becomes the foundation for everything you want to build and experience next.
